Feeling Contented

Thing always go wrong
when you cannot feel happy and satisfy
with what you have
I think i should feel happier with what i got currently
I always ask for more
Take things for granted
In the end
I end up nothing
I had a bad relationship with Hope
It provide me bottles of happiness and dreams
But always leave a hole at the bottom
so it will never fill up
it come and go
repeating like a circle with no end
Alas, i get tired of it and emptied the bottles myself
so i would never get disappointed
again again and again
with this
reality pours in
and i slowly understand
the world
is never wonderful
as what you been
expecting~

AFS

AFS or also known as Antarabangsa Budaya Malaysia. I had a great opportunity to be introduced to this great NGO body by Dexter just last weekend from 30th to 31st of May 2009 at Kuantan, Pahang during their end year stay camp 2009 program. The purpose of this program is to celebrate those who are going back to their respective countries after a year in our country for the student exchange program. I can say that this program that held at Megaview Hotel here is quite a success judging from the number of people who turn up and the cheering and shouting and dancing and playing and bla bla...

Just let me start from where dex and me reached the kuantan bus terminal. We reached there roughly around 12something in the morning. Yes, you heard me. 12 something in the morning. Supposedly we can reached earlier but due to a little bit of profit ( the bus can save by not passing through toll) that driver decided to use old roads that were not well maintained. Then from there we spent a night at Kuantan AFS chapter leader's hse. Without her hospitality, both of us will have to sleep under the bridge coz we think that they provide hotel for us for 2days but actually only for a day that is on sat. So we seek for her shelter and she treat her really comfortably.

Next day Saturday, we together with Kuching chapter leader, Mr Bathiah who is also principal of SM Sains Kuching with his wife were brought by Ms Wendy with another Kuantan AFS leader, Madam Choo to Kuantan specialties that is Nasi Dagang. Is a very simple meal: plain white rice + a small piece of fish with abit of the sauce and it cost RM 2.50! Expensive huh?! Luckily not we pay. They treat us.. How nice of them. Oh yes, not forgetting the keropok lekor. I think you guys must have heard of it. Simply delicious. Before the program start, we had the opportunity to be toured around Kuantan. One thing i like of Kuantan is the beach. Although it might be as grand or clean as you compared with the beach at Tioman or Redang, it is definitely one of the quite beach which makes me feel more attracted towards it. I always like a lonely beach rather than a pack with ppl. It spoil the beach.

Back to hotel for the program at 11something. Was kind of happy to see those bunch of exchange students there practicing for their performance later at nite. Met Ludwig and bunch of his fren there. Kinda funny though the feelin coz we just wished him goodbye at the bus terminal not long ago and now here i meet him again. I shall skip the meeting part coz partly just those about new student exchange this coming July.

The dinner later at night was really awesome. The MC is kind of cool with his chinese accent but overall he speaks really well and the whole dinner go on smoothly. I really did enjoy those performance by those student exchange. Mostly dancing (indian dance to be exact..XD) then lastly they ended it with some fashion show by all of them. Hang out with them for awhile before we went back to our room.

The next morning we were given a talk by the famous Malaysian speaker, dato mahadzir lokman. You might not heard of him before but he's a really superb speaker. Able to speak malay with all the dialects, english, chinese, abit of chinese dialect, french and even germany. Sounds cool rite? He's speaker for NAM meeting at M'sia, Commonwealth, OIC and a lot more international events held in Malaysia. Is hard for me to describe how great speaker he is. You have to find out yourself. Next, the meeting continue...

After lunch, all of us, everyone from AFS bid farewell to those student exchange. After this, we will not meet each other again.

Alrite, some of the things that i learnt during my this 3days trip there. From AFS i really learnt that the dream of making all malaysian unite is totally possible. Based on all the people there, the staff, the volunteers regardless of race and religion, they are able to work together under the same community. This really impressed me. Then, i also learnt that meet and farewell is part of our life. We may meet today but part tomorrow. We should value more the people around us more. Who knows tomorrow the person we care the most might leave us. Lastly, this student exchange program i really feel that is the bridge to link two worlds of different cultures to know each other more. Together we move towards world peace! (how noble i am..lol..)

Malaysia Debate Open 2009

The Only Chinese dudes (i'm so racist.lol.)
missin-in-action : Moi Zjen Pang

The title said it. 8 of us, Ming Yuen, Seo, Sanjiv, Anila, Shobana, Saranya, Moi, and me joined the competition held from 21st to 23d of March 2009 at MMU, Melaka. We formed three teams. MHS 1- Shobana, Ming Yuen and me, MHS 2-Seo, Moi and Saranya and finally MHS 3- Sanjiv, Anila and one guy by the name Kitso we find on that day itself. Let me just get on to the crazy things we did there.

First Day, 21 March 2009, Saturday:
Arrive there around 8.30a.m. . Thought we were late but it seemed that we were the earliest compared to most of them. Oh well, you know Malaysians famous for its punctuality XD. Moving on to the long boring opening ceremony followed by the mock round but sad to say everything is out of schedule. Wasted a lot of time here. Finally around 4something the real competition start. The time it supposed to start is 2.00p.m. I shall skip the complaining. First round, we (MHS 1) faced some dudes from UT MARA. The motions were:

  1. TH believe that terminally ill patients have the right to die
  2. TH Believe teenagers should have the right to vote
  3. TH would ban abstinence only sex education in all schools

Motion 2 was chosen. We were the government We lost this round though. I don’t want to be a sore loser but all of us felt that this round we should have won. It was because of the noob adjudicator. I don’t think she can even speak a proper English yet she the one who judged us. Forget about that. Second round our opponent is UT MARA again but different teams. The motions were:

  1. TH believe that criminal cases should be tried by jury
  2. TH believe that evidence obtained through unlawful means should be admissible in court
  3. TH would elect its own judges

Motion 3 were chosen. We government again. This time we lost. yes again but this time we satisfied with the result coz the some of our points were out of context and this three dudes are pre law student. Bad day huh. It all ended around 8something. Then proceed to the hotel thinking it was Mahkota Century but in the end it was Mahkota Guest House. The name souns great huh but as a matter of fact, it is a dormitory. Sad. Thinking is a waste of money to stay there, we refund the money and stayed at seo's place instead. Thanks to seo's dad for providing us a comfortable stay. So much better than that stupid guest house. I didn’t tell you what we did before we went to bed. After our dinner at Amigo, we went to have a walk at Jetty. It was pretty cool. Was playing with seo some ranking game( hehe XD). Then we head to mcd to get some drinks and lepak at dp field. A really nice place to hang out at night ^^ around 4something we only sent the girls back to the "hotel" and finally went back seo's place. We did encounter some unnatural stuff. I think is best for me not to say.lol.

Second Day, 22nd March Sunday.
I lazy want to explain in detail already. Just straight to the points. 3rd round we faced UiTM KBM 3. The motions are:

  1. TH would allow corporations receiving government bailout the discretion to give bonuses to their employees.
  2. TH believe that the states should give incentives the entertainment industry to produce content with positive social message.
  3. TH would repeal tax exemption on all religious institution.

Motion 1 was chosen. Opposition this time. We lost. Pretty sad rite. lol. Moving on to round 4 with opponents from UiTM Perlis. I forgot the other 2motions. The chosen motion is TH would extradite war deserters. This time we challenged the definition given by the PM and we won(yea..finally). Round 5 we faced UiTM Johor. The motions were:

  1. TH would fund religion based criminal rehabilitation program
  2. TH would nationalize all prisons
  3. TH would allow prisoners to donate their organs in exchange for the shortening of their sentences.

Motions 3 is chosen. Opposition again. We won again. haha we finally show soomething we are not to be played easily..lol.. and finally round 6 which is a silent round (a round that u will not know your result) The motion i forgot ad coz is kind of confusing for me to interpret. Is something about economics about tax saving. I did quite a bad job here and pulled down the rest but luckily my team mates brought it back up and we won again!!(we went to ask the adjudicator on the next day to see we won or not). That night was my first time went in to pub. The organiser had the break night at The Cube. Quite an experience for me. haha. Dont worry, i didnt take or consume and drugs. Still normal. haha.

Last Day, 23rd March 2009, Monday.
It was nothing much on that day. Wasted a lot of time. I regretted for skippin school for this. Only around 4asomething we watched somethiong fun. Team from MMU and IIUM were competing in semi-finals. The grand dinner was sucks. The food is is..i dunno how to describe but seriously it was sucks.Dont ever held your party at Water City Resort. You will make your guests upset. The grand final too. Not what we expected for the final. Maybe they are nervous coz was competing up the stage. The motion was something about selling nuclear weapon to other countries to terminate their own program. Basically it was something like that. I lazy to type already. I might update now and then to fill in those I’ve missed. Till then ^^

Holiday

There it goes. Another one week holiday. I do wonder whether i can stop procrastinate and start concentrating towards my revision. I have been wasting a lot of time since the very first day i entered form6. Countless time as i recalled that i've promised myself to work hard to achieve the expectation given by my parents, teachers and fellow friends yet i seem to be so carefree about it. Days toward STPM is getting nearer and i already forgot all those chapters in lower 6 and to think that i still have inorganic, organic chemistry to go through. I never regret for entering science stream in form6 in fact, i do enjoy the sciences especially chem but i will never score in that paper XD..nevertheless i shall work hard this time. The trauma of March test is still haunting me. For the first time in my life, March test is tougher than the end year test. I think i got pointer less than 2.0..what a shame! I shall do better in the coming test as not to drop my parent "water-face" (recently my cousin performed excellently in his STPM..very excellent result..thats why my dad is giving me signal ad)..I will, I may, I must use this whole week to catch up all those subjects i have been lagging behind..Ganbatte!
